Danube Guides is a quality brand developed between 2017 and 2019 by partners from Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, Croatia and a leading idea partner from Germany, the Danube Office Ulm. The mission of the partners’ network is to organize training for licensed national or local guides who want to gain additional knowledge about the importance of natural heritage and nature-related cultural heritage and thus obtain permission to use the brand. Their commitment is dedicated to environmental protection, sustainable development and raising the public awareness.
Danube Guides are specially trained to present the natural heritage of this area for various interest groups, in a fun, sustainable and environmentally friendly way. What makes them so unique is their extensive knowledge of human-environment interactions, sustainable development, ecosystems, social trends and much more. In six countries of the enlarged Danube region, guides offer various individual excursions and give an insight into the unique nature, culture and history along the second largest river in Europe and in the case of Slovenia, along its tributary, the Sava River and the region.
With the help of environmentally friendly tourism and the use of advanced didactic methods, guides along the Danube offer not only sports activities, boating, hiking and cycling, but also in-depth educational content and a sense of greater connection with nature. The Preddvor Tourist Office has been a part of the Danube Guides network since its inception. The latter means that it offers guided tours led by guides with a license to use a quality brand and, more importantly, completed training courses and acquired knowledge. Guided tours by Danube Guides or in accordance with the content promoted by the brand are marked with a logo.
