In the center of Mače, turn right at the marked crossroads and drive along the narrow road above the village, where there is a larger marked parking lot. From the parking lot, head back to the road, which after about half an hour leads you to a crossroads, where you turn left towards Kališče. Cross the stream and after some time you will find the marked footpath that goes between the tracks. Follow the path, then head towards the bench on the lookout hill. The path then turns into a forest, which begins to ascend and gives the feeling that you are going higher rather quickly. The forest is slowly thinning and the path takes you to the Kališče mountain pasture, from where it is only a 15-minute ascent to Kališče hut. Here you continue along a wide ridge path towards Storžič. With beautiful views, the path quickly leads you to Bašeljsko sedlo, where a signpost directs you towards Storžič. The path begins to climb steeply through the undergrowth and after 30 minutes of ascent brings you to the ridge of Storžič. The path soon recedes along the ridge to the steep southern slopes. This part of the route is dangerous, so use severe caution to avoid slipping. A few meters below the top, join the path from Žrelo, continue to the right and reach the top after a few steps. The cross at the top is surrounded by a fence so that your well-deserved sandwich break is uninterrupted by the grazing animals.
