The house specialty is Preddvor tripe, prepared according to a more than a hundred-year-old family recipe. In summer, their garden is extremely popular, housed in the pleasant shade of magnificent wild chestnut trees.
The restaurant of Pension Zaplata is famous for its venison dishes and traditional Slovenian specialties with a touch of modernity. The content of their menu is based on fresh ingredients and is therefore adapted to the seasons. The pension is decorated in a typical Alpine style, and there is a beautiful view on the mountains from their terrace.

A popular destination for hikers and visitors to the picturesque village, which offers beautiful views of the Carniola Valley and the surrounding hills. After a walk to the church and the lookout point or towards Štefanja gora, you will be served cold cold cuts and refreshing drinks. A beach volleyball court and a log cabin are located just above Lake Črnava. National and even European beach volleyball championships take place here. The log cabin of the most active members of the Bašelj Tourist Association is located right next to the murmur of the Belca stream. During its recent renovation, hut got a completely new kitchen, which mainly produces traditional dishes like various hearty soups. The regular house specialty is the Kokra pot. It is a refreshing and invigorating soup dish, made according to the author's recipe. It contains different vegetables and three types of meat.

The menu of one of our most visited mountain lodges regularly offers stews, cabbage with sausage, buckwheat porridge, … It is also famous for excellent Jakob pie, apple strudel and waffles with Nutella. In addition to a special beer for cyclists, they also offer their own beer, Jakob's beer. A special feature of St. Jakob is Sunday breakfast. Try it!
Hudičev boršt shelter has a kitchen for internal use only, so you will need to bring a snack with you to this beautiful vantage point. Unless, of course, you make it to the neighboring mountain lodges, St. Jakob or Kališče hut. They will be happy to make you a fragrant Turkish coffee and serve you cold refreshing drinks.
